We are delighted to announce our Patron Ella Haddad, Labour Member for Clark. We are very fortunate to have Ella’s support as the Shadow Minister for Multicultural Affairs. Ella is also:
Before entering parliament, Ella worked in the Tasmanian community services and public sectors. She worked in the alcohol and drug sector and volunteered on Boards including Women’s Health Tasmania, TasCOSS, TasDeaf, TasCAHRD and Ten Lives Cat Centre.
Ella has a passion for social justice, fairness and everyone being treated with dignity and respect. She believes that the best government policies can only be formed by talking to people affected by those communities.
As Shadow Minister for Multicultural Affairs, Ella is very keen to connect with all of Hobart’s growing multicultural communities and be available, to advocate for the needs of each community.
I applied for numerous leadership positions but was never successful until I worked with AEMEL and realised that I wasn’t presenting myself in the best light. I immediately got my promotion the first time!
As a new migrant with multiple degrees, I wasn’t getting any jobs that matched my skill sets until I got help from AEMEL.
